2014 Ballot Measure: Bristol Bay Forever Initiative

As part of Alaska Common Ground’s longstanding public forums around ballot initiatives, this event featured a panel discussion around 2014’s Ballot Measure 4: An Act Providing for Protection of Bristol Bay Wild Salmon and Waters Within or Flowing into the Existing 1972 Bristol Bay Fisheries Reserve (frequently referred to as “Bristol Bay Forever”).

The panel was moderated by Dick Mylius, former director of the Division of Mining, Land, and Water of the Department of Natural Resources and Alaska Common Ground board member, who also provided an overview of the measure. Link to Presentation.

  • Christina Salmon (initiative Sponsor): Igiugig Tribal Council member, Lake and Peninsula Borough Assembly member, Igiugig Native Corporation board member, and Trespass Officer for the Igiugig Native Corporation.
