Alaska’s Ranked Choice

On November 8, 2022, Alaskans headed to the polls and used ranked choice voting in the general election for US Senate, US House of Representatives, Governor/Lt. Governor, Alaska State Senate, and Alaska State House of Representatives for the next terms. The top four vote-getters from the August primary were on the ballot. This was Alaska Common Ground’s third event to help educate voters on Alaska’s new election system and provided an opportunity for attendees to ask questions of elections experts Gail Fenumiai, Director of Alaska’s Division of Elections, and Jason Grenn, Executive Director of Alaskans for Better Elections.
